Minister of European Integration Jadranka Joksimović has stated today that Hungary has provided significant donation and medical assistance in the form of 200,000 masks and 10,000 protective suits to help Serbia’s healthcare system in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I am in constant contact with the Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Péter Szijjártó, we are discussing the situation, the measures undertaken and the needs for medical equipment,” said Joksimović.
“Minister Szijjártó, as a great and true friend of Serbia, has offered assistance in the form of 200,000 masks and 10,000 protective suits,” stated Joksimović.
“The equipment has arrived to Serbia and it means a great deal to us, in every sense. I express my utmost gratitude to my colleague Szijjártó and to Hungary and its people, who, in these – for all of us equally – difficult times, has demonstrated true solidarity and friendship,“ conveyed the Minister.
She has said that such concrete assistance Hungary has provided is even more important having regard to the situation on the medical equipment market, where, even if you have money, it is difficult to get the equipment, because the market is literally being rampaged.
“This is also a demonstration of respect and good neighbourly relations that President Vučić and Prime Minister Orbán have established, and we as a nation and state know how to appreciate every sign of friendship offered to us in these difficult times”, emphasised Joksimović.
