Seminar on the consequences of Brexit

The Ministry of European Integration, in cooperation with the Hanns Seidel Foundation, has organised today an online seminar titled ‘Brexit, withdrawal from the European Union – legal implications for candidate countries’. Civil servants from numerous institutions had an opportunity to learn more about the consequences of a member state’s decision to withdraw from the EU in accordance with Article 50 of the Treaty on European Union. With regard to Brexit, the seminar discussed the withdrawal from the EU with or without a deal, the legal implications in both cases, and the effects of the withdrawal on various sectors such as competition, transport, agriculture, energy etc.

Healthcare facilities receive new assistance and support from the European Union in medical equipment, as 100 oxygen concentrators arrive in Serbia. These are concentrators for oxygen therapy in hospital treatment, to reduce the mortality rate with hypoxaemia in COVID-19 patients.

Today, a second cargo Boeing 747  landed at Nikola Tesla Airport from Kerala, with 90 tonnes load of medical protective equipment bought by Serbia to combat COVID-19.​​​​​​ The cost for the transport of the equipment is fully funded by the European Union as part of the 93 mil EUR package for Serbia announced by the European Union, which provides immediate as well as short and medium term assistance to help Serbia to fight COVID-19.
