December 17 2004 |

Belgrade, 17 December 2004– Spanish Agency for International Cooperation (AECI) has donated 25,000 EUR to the European Integration Office, which will be used for funding the activities envisaged by the Serbian Communication Strategy on the Stabilisation and Association Process of Serbia-Montenegro. The donation is a part of Cooperation Programme of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Serbian Ministry of International Economic Relations, signed on 12 June 2003.

The aim of the project presented at the press conference in the Serbian Government building by Radmila Milivojevic, Secretary General of the European Integration Office and H. E. Mariano Garcia Munos, the Ambassador of Spain, is to help raise awareness of Serbian citizens of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement. Serbian citizens should understand the ultimate aim of the European integration and its effects. They should also get reliable information about their own role and responsibilities in this process. In addition to this, civil servants and representatives of local administrations should be informed about EU policies and instruments (Stabilisation and Association Process, Regional Policy and EU Structural Funds).

The donation of Spanish Agency for International Cooperation should provide funding for the following publications:

  • Serbian Government Communication Strategy on the Stabilisation and Association Process of Serbia-Montenegro (in English and Serbian, edition of 500 copies)

  • Training Strategy for Serbian Civil Servants Involved in the European Integration Process (in Serbian and English, edition of 500 copies)

  • What is Stabilisation and Association Agreement (a brochure and a leaflet, 3,000 copies).

  • A,B, C on European Integration (third edition)

  • A,B, C on European Integration (CD, which would enable interactive access to the information on the Internet)
