J. Joksimović and Klokić: Serbia's experience from the European integration process is important for Republika Srpska

Minister of European Integration, Jadranka Joksimović, talked with Minister for European Integration and International Cooperation, Zlatan Klokić, about inter-ministerial cooperation, Serbia's experience in the accession process, and our country's future plans on its path towards full EU membership.

Jadranka Joksimović stressed that Serbia is committed to sharing and transferring its own experiences from the European integration process with others. In her opinion, this is especially important because our country has been recognized as a regional frontrunner of European integrations, which, aside from our desire, is also binding in terms of a joint regional contribution to European integration and assistance to all those who are behind us in this process.

Concerning Republika Srpska, the Minister has stressed that the Memorandum of Cooperation between MEI and the Ministry for European Integration and International Cooperation of Republika Srpska envisages various models of cooperation - primarily through the transfer of experience in the field of vocational training, providing support in the development of vocational training methodology, inviting national officials of the Republika Srpska to the trainings of mutual interest, providing expert assistance in the field of the EU at the request of institutions of the Republika Srpska, and organizing internships at MEI.

Jadranka Joksimović also emphasized the importance of cross-border cooperation, which is implemented with Republika Srpska within the framework of cooperation with Bosnia and Herzegovina, at the level of border municipalities. Thus, important results are being achieved, through one of the segments of European integration and specific projects. The cross-border cooperation is implemented through projects of sustainable development, biodiversity, cultural heritage, and environmental protection.

Minister for European Integration and International Cooperation, Zlatan Klokić, said that the European integration process of Bosnia and Herzegovina is actively monitored in Republika Srpska, and that Republika Srpska is interested and committed to fully participate in all preparatory activities that Bosnia and Herzegovina will face in the accession process. He assessed that Serbia is an example of commitment to the accession process, but also of cooperation in the region. He has also stated that the Memorandum of Cooperation between MEI and the Ministry for European Integration and International Cooperation of Republika Srpska provides the best possible opportunity for human resources of Republika Srpska to be trained and gain experience, which will be valuable in their further work.
