J. Joksimović: Remove monitoring of the Brussels Agreement from chapter 35

“If the European Union, as the mediator and the guarantor, accepts Pristina’s current approach to the dialogue and the Brussels Agreement, we expect the European Commission to remove this additional content from chapter 35 that monitors the implementation of the Brussels Agreements, so that it remains related to the so-called ‘other issues’ as in the case of other countries”, stated Minister of European Integration Jadranka Joksimović.

“With the current content, in that case, it can no longer be effectively monitored and thus can in no way condition the continuation of our accession negotiations and the opening of other chapters”, said Joksimović replying to Tanjug’s question on how the platform that Pristina announced will affect Serbia’s negotiation process with the EU.

She has emphasised that, after such a platform that unequivocally negates the Brussels Agreement, “there is nothing to monitor, given that one of the parties – that is Pristina, has clearly stated that it does not respect and has no intention of implementing the Brussels Agreement”.
