The European Commission adopted the Adriatic-Ionian Transnational Cooperation Programme 2014-2020.

On 20 October 2015, the The European Commission adopted the Interreg V B Adriatic-Ionian (ADRION) Transnational Cooperation Programme for the period 2014-2020. The Programme will support transnational cooperation project which enhance economic, social and territorial cohesion in the Adriatic-Ionian region. The Programme is focused on fostering innovation, environmental protection, connectivity and support to the governance of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic-Ionian Region. Programmes area covers Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Greece, Italy, Montenegro, Slovenia and Serbia.

€83.4 million was allocated to the Programme from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and €16 million from the Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance (IPA II). The total value of the Cooperation Programme, with national contributions included, is €118 million.
