The Ministry of European Integration has signed an Agreement for the implementation of the project titled “Official Vehicles and Office Equipment for Local Authorities”, which is financed by the People’s Republic of China.
The goal of this project is to contribute to improving conditions for education, healthcare, and social protection in 72 local self-governments in the Republic of Serbia through the procurement of the necessary equipment: off-road vehicles, vans for transporting children and social service beneficiaries, ambulances, computer workstations with peripherals, laptops for fieldwork, multifunction printers, and air conditioning units.
The estimated value of the project is CNY 55.06 million, or EUR 7.3 million.
The Ministry of European Integration is also responsible for coordinating development aid of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Serbia, and had, therefore, previously conducted a survey concerning needs at the local level. The Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities provided technical support to the process of identifying the needs of local self-government units (LSUs) by contributing to the development of the questionnaire and offering advisory support to local self-governments throughout the process. Based on the Agreement, the Chinese partners have initiated the procurement procedures for the necessary equipment so that it may reach the end users as soon as possible.
