The 11th Mediterranean Coast and Macro-Regional Strategies Week will take place from 15 to 17 September 2026 in Izola, Republic of Slovenia.
This year's event will be held under the theme "Macro-Regional Strategies in Action: What Becomes Possible", highlighting how cooperation at the macro-regional level can deliver tangible results for local communities.
Over the course of the three-day programme, participants will discuss key topics related to the development of European regions, including improving environmental quality, adapting to climate change and disaster risk management, the role of the European Union's Cohesion Policy in fostering investment and strengthening synergies among different funding sources, the EU enlargement policy and the integration of candidate countries into macro-regional strategies, as well as youth empowerment and entrepreneurship through innovation and sustainable business models.
The event is organised within the framework of the project "EUSAIR FACILITY POINT – Supporting the EUSAIR Governance for Improved Cooperation" and will bring together public policy experts, representatives of civil society, local and regional authorities, and the business sector to exchange experiences and discuss ways to build a more resilient, sustainable and interconnected Europe.
