AIpromTOUR Project Presented – Artificial Intelligence in the Service of Sustainable Tourism

The kick-off conference of the AIpromTOUR – AI as a Boost for CBC Tourism Destination project was held in Novi Sad on 9 and 10 July 2026. The project is being implemented under the Interreg IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Programme Croatia–Serbia 2021–2027.

Participants had the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the objectives and planned activities of the project, which aims to enhance sustainable tourism in the cross-border area through the application of artificial intelligence-based solutions. The project will encompass the development of artificial intelligence tools for tourism marketing, data analysis, and the enhancement of the visitor experience, as well as the preparation of a joint strategic framework for the application of artificial intelligence in tourism.

On the second day of the conference, a study visit to Fruška Gora was organised, during which the area’s potential for the development of wine tourism, cultural tourism, and sustainable tourism was presented.

The Tourism Organisation of Vojvodina is the lead partner in the project, which is being implemented in partnership with the Croatian National Tourist Board, the Vukovar-Srijem County Tourist Board, and the Danube Competence Centre.

The AIpromTOUR project, with a total value of EUR 786,107, is being implemented over a period of two years, commencing on 1 February 2026, with the participation of four partner organisations from Serbia and Croatia. Its objective is to enhance the sustainable development of tourism in the cross-border area through the application of artificial intelligence, increase the visibility and attractiveness of wine and gastronomy tourism and active tourism, and develop innovative joint tourism products. The project places particular emphasis on the tourism potential of Fruška Gora and the Ilok area by strengthening the integration of natural and cultural heritage, enhancing cooperation among tourism stakeholders, and attracting new visitors.
