Organised by the Local Office of the Joint Secretariat in Niš, in cooperation with the Ministry of European Integration as the National Body of the Programme, a workshop “Project Implementation” was held on 26 June 2026 at the SKIP Centre in Niš, intended for partners whose projects are financed under Priority 2 “Integrated development of the border region” of the Interreg IPA Bulgaria–Serbia Programme 2021–2027.
The workshop was attended by more than 20 representatives of institutions and organisations from Serbia participating in approved projects, both as lead and project partners.
The goal of the workshop was to provide the beneficiaries with practical guidelines and the necessary knowledge for the successful implementation of projects, bearing in mind that the process of signing the grant agreements is in progress, while the launch of project activities is just ahead.
During the full-day programme, participants had the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the rules of technical implementation and reporting, project progress monitoring, risk management, and procedures for project modifications. The Joint Electronic Monitoring System (JEMS) was also presented, which is used for project management, reporting and the submission of documentation.
A special part of the workshop was dedicated to financial project management, cost verification and financial reporting, where the national controllers of the Ministry of European Integration presented procedures, common mistakes and examples of good practice. Participants also received detailed instructions on the implementation of public procurement in accordance with PRAG procedures, the most common irregularities which can lead to financial corrections, as well as on the application of the EU visibility rules.
Through presentations and Q&A sessions, participants had the opportunity to clarify any doubts and receive specific advice for the efficient, transparent and proper implementation of their projects.
The Ministry of European Integration, in cooperation with the Joint Secretariat of the Programme, continues to provide support to beneficiaries in order to ensure the successful implementation of projects and the achievement of the objectives of cross-border cooperation between Serbia and Bulgaria.
