The Head of the Operational Team for Serbia's accession to the European Union and Chief Negotiator Danijel Apostolović, Head of the Mission of the Republic of Serbia to the European Union, met today in Belgrade with chairs and members of the negotiating groups.
Discussions focused on the activities of state institutions necessary for opening Cluster 2 – Internal Market and Cluster 5 – Resources, Agriculture, and Cohesion, bearing in mind that Cluster 3 – Competitiveness and Inclusive Growth has been assessed by the European Commission as ready for opening. Particular emphasis was placed on the pace of implementing recommendations from the European Commission’s Annual Report, as well as the steps outlined in the Reform Agenda of the Republic of Serbia.
The meeting was attended by 34 chairs of negotiating groups, who reported in detail on legislative and other strategic activities being implemented in the process of alignment with European Union standards and regulations.
