The Minister for European Integration, Nemanja Starović, is the author of the article “Serbia to Schengen”, published in the daily newspaper Politika. In this article, he presents arguments for the strategic inclusion of the Western Balkans in the Schengen Area.
The article highlights that such a step would contribute to strengthening Europe’s security, more effective migration control, improved movement of people and goods, as well as tangible economic and social benefits for the region. It is particularly emphasised that including the region in Schengen would represent a signal of trust and a pragmatic solution in a time of growing security challenges, conveying the message that it is time for visionary and courageous decisions at the European level.
