Today, as part of the EU–Western Balkans Summit in Tirana, telecommunication operators from the European Union and the Western Balkans signed a declaration on the gradual reduction of roaming prices during 2023, the ultimate goal of which is to completely abolish the costs afterwards.
Reducing roaming costs with EU countries will provide better conditions for cooperation and incentives for business, but also the development of tourism. This agreement is one of the concrete results of the European integration of the entire region and something that benefits everyone.
The signing of this important agreement, which will provide the gradual reduction and abolition of roaming charges between the EU and the Western Balkan region, was attended today at the summit in Tirana by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić.
As part of the Berlin Process, the leaders of the Western Balkans agreed earlier to mutually abolish roaming charges, and the Regional Roaming Agreement entered into force in July 2021.
