The Government of Serbia adopted, at its session held on 26 January 2026, the Decision on the establishment of the Coordination System for the Republic of Serbia’s European Union accession process. By this Decision, an Operational Team for the Republic of Serbia’s European Union accession process was established, to be composed of representatives at the highest state level, whose role will be to coordinate the accelerated implementation of all obligations on Serbia’s European path. Their task will be to ensure strategic guidance, political coordination and the timely resolution of issues of particular importance for progress in the accession negotiations. This Team represents a link between decision-making at the highest level and the operational conduct of the negotiations and will contribute to the harmonised action of all competent institutions, while the Ministry of European Integration continues to perform tasks of expert, organisational and administrative coordination, as well as to ensure the coordinated work of all participants in the negotiation process.
