Minister Starović at the EU Council Meeting in Copenhagen

Minister of European Integration, Nemanja Starović, took part in the informal EU Council meeting in Copenhagen, where he also had a number of meetings with ministers from EU Member States.

In his address, Starović pointed out that although Serbia was not satisfied with the current pace of the negotiation process, it continued its reform activities leading towards EU membership with undiminished intensity.

“Serbia is not waiting for EU membership in order to implement reforms,” underlined Starović, “but is strengthening its own institutions, improving conditions for citizens and the economy, all of which is bringing us substantively closer to European standards.”

The Minister also emphasised that the model of gradual integration was already yielding results, such as faster and cheaper payments through SEPA, as well as the forthcoming access to the Roam Like at Home regime for Serbian citizens using mobile phones abroad.
