Today at the National Academy of Public Administration, Minister of European Integration Tanja Miščević opened the Network of Institutes and Schools of Public Administration in Central and Eastern Europe (NISPAcee) conference, which was attended by more than 200 experts in the field of public administration from 40 countries in Europe and the world.
In the announcement of the National Academy of Public Administration, it was stated that Miščević said that public administration reform and digitisation were continuous processes and strategic orientations of the Government of the Republic of Serbia.
Minister of European Integration added that Serbia was a leader in the region in the field of public administration digitalisation and that it would continue in that direction, with the aim of improving services directed at citizens.
Acting Director of the National Academy of Public Administration Dejan Miletić pointed out that it was a great honour for the Academy, but also for all of Serbia, to host such an exceptional gathering of experts, which had symbolically made Belgrade the European centre of public administration.
Miletić explained to Tanjug that the NISPAcee conference had gathered a large number of experts and people who deal with training in their national academies of a similar type, as well as that the conference was a combination of academic knowledge and practical application of that knowledge.
According to Miletić, Serbia is currently the regional leader in the sphere of digitisation and in training through digitisation.
“I will only cite data from the World Bank, which ranked Serbia fourth in Europe, eleventh in the world in the field of digitisation and electronic administration, i.e. everything that digitisation brings to the more efficient work of public administration and the quality services it provides to citizens,” said Miletić.
The conference participants were addressed by Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme in Serbia Yakup Beris as well as Assistant Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Jasmina Benmansur.
The main goal of the conference is to open opportunities for dialogue, exchange of experiences, ideas and examples of good practice in order to improve the quality of public administration, as well as to recognise the most important challenges in this area, according to the announcement of the National Academy of Public Administration.
