The seventh EUSAIR forum was held

The seventh EUSAIR Forum dedicated to the Adriatic and Ionian Strategy was held on 16 and 17 May 2022 in Tirana. As part of the first day of the Forum, the Adriatic and Ionian Council and the Ministerial Meeting were held to discuss topics related to the Green Agenda and the European Green Deal in the Adriatic-Ionian region, as well as further enlargement of the European Union and the Western Balkans.

Mihajilo Dašić, the Assistant Minister of European Integration, spoke on behalf of the Republic of Serbia at the meeting, presenting how EUSAIR and cooperation within this platform can contribute to Serbia’s European path and faster integration of our country into the EU. M. Dašić also referred to the contribution to the Green Agenda and sustainable connectivity in the Adriatic and Ionian region.

This year’s EUSAIR Forum brought together Ministers in charge of foreign affairs and European funds, European Commission officials, relevant actors and the general public to participate in a discussion on the future of the Adriatic and Ionian Strategy and its role in addressing key issues in this region. The European Union Strategy for the Adriatic-Ionian Region is one of four EU macro-regional strategies, which should contribute to the further integration of the Western Balkans into the EU and includes eight countries: four EU member states (Croatia, Greece, Italy and Slovenia) and four candidates and potential candidates for EU membership (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Serbia). The overall objective of EUSAIR is to promote economic and social progress and growth in a region that needs to be more attractive, competitive and better connected.
