J. Joksimović: EU officials send positive messages and wind in our sails

Minister of European Integration Jadranka Joksimović has stated tonight that EU officials have sent positive messages and “wind in our sails” for everything that is to come during the French presidency, and that is the opening of Cluster 3 (Inclusive growth and competitiveness), which has already been recommended for opening in the EC Annual Report.

At a press conference together with Prime Minister Ana Brnabić, Joksimović has assessed that the visit to Brussels was positive and fruitful.

“Today, we’ve had one of the most important formats in the relations between Serbia as an acceding country and the EU, and that is the Stabilisation and Association Council. This time, we’ve raised the level of participation with the participation of the Prime Minister, and, on the EU side, Josep Borrell, the High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy, precisely because of everything that Serbia has done in the previous period, particularly in the rule of law area”, noted Joksimović in Brussels.

She has stated that the referendum on the amendment to the Constitution in the area of judiciary has been welcomed by Brussels, adding that preparations for the adoption of the laws to implement those changes are now expected to follow.

“We have presented our plans to keep moving forward and work on other clusters as well. We have also talked about the Green Agenda and all other issues important for our European path. I believe that the general conclusion is that the visit has been positive and a wind in our sails to accelerate the reforms”, said Joksimović.
