Webinar on EU trademarks law organised

The Ministry of European Integration of the Republic of Serbia, in cooperation with the Intellectual Property Office and the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA), has organised a two-day webinar titled ‘EU Trademarks Law’. The webinar was organised through the Technical Assistance Programme of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg ‘Strengthening Capacities to Implement EU Law’.

The purpose of the webinar is to provide useful insight on the EU rules of trademark protection and on the latest developments in this field. This webinar focus is on traditional and contemporary questions such as the interplay between trademark law and fundamental rights, trademarks and geographical indications, and non – traditional trademarks. This webinar, also, addressed more practical issues, such as proving reputation and notoriety, proof of use of the trademarks, as well as enforcement issues. At the end of this training, the participants deepened their knowledge in this area of law and be informed about the latest developments.

The webinar was organised for the representatives of the Intellectual Property Office, judges of the Appellate Court in Belgrade as well as for the representatives of organisations dealing with Chapter 7 – Intellectual property rights.
