J. Joksimović: Denmark supports reform processes in Serbia

Minister of European Integration Jadranka Joksimović has said today that she expects that Serbia can continue to count on an even stronger support from Demark in the implementation of reforms on its path towards the EU.

Today, Joksimović has received Danish Ambassador to Belgrade Anders Christian Hougård in a farewell visit, thanking him for good cooperation during his diplomatic term in Belgrade which, according to her, was marked by the improvement of bilateral cooperation and the cooperation of the two countries regarding Serbia’s European integration.“Numerous programmes implemented owing to the financial assistance of the Kingdom of Denmark have significantly contributed to the improvement of the reform processes in Serbia,” stressed Joksimović.

According to the statement of the Ministry of European Integration, Joksimović has emphasised that she expects that Serbia can continue to count on an even stronger support from Demark in the implementation of all necessary reforms in the process of EU accession, particularly in the development and recovery of its economy and entrepreneurship.

She has added that this will also accelerate Serbia’s European path.

Joksimović has expressed her expectations that Danish companies will continue to invest in Serbia, adding that they have been showing increasing interest in investing and successfully operating in Serbia.

The interlocutors have particularly discussed the demonstrated solidarity and cooperation between Serbia and the EU regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as plans for the socio-economic recovery of the Western Balkans and support through the European Commission’s Economic and Investment Plan that was announced for autumn.

Hougård has emphasised that he is satisfied with the fact that there are no outstanding issues between the two countries, which gives good ground for intensifying bilateral cooperation.

He has also noted that Denmark will strongly support the reform processes in Serbia as the key country of the region of which most is expected.
