Women are not a minority but the greatest potential of society, Minister of European Integration Jadranka Joksimović has said at the panel “The Power of Women in State Policy” organised at the Faculty of Law in Belgrade.

Speaking about the significance of “women's diplomacy”, Joksimović said that women often proved themselves to be the best negotiators in challenging negotiation processes, such as those involving crisis management or post-conflict discussions. “Therefore, we should not talk about women as a minority group, because they are not, but as a great potential for our society, economy and overall development,” Joksimović said.

Minister of European Integration Jadranka Joksimović has said today in Banja Luka that Serbia, as the current frontrunner in the European integration process, is constructive and ready to help neighbouring countries, stressing that the Serbian Ministry will continue to provide assistance to BiH in preparing its answers to the European Commission's questionnaire.

"Serbia is here, and Serbia is constructive and seeks to properly fulfil its role as a frontrunner in the process, together with Montenegro and as it has been recognised in the strategy," Minister Joksimović said at the conference "Western Balkans and the EU Membership - Strengthening Regional Cooperation for faster European integration process" which is being held in Banja Luka.

Minister of European Integration Jadranka Joksimović has said that the European PROGRES programme, designed for sustainable and regional development, has had numerous positive effects for 34 Serbian southeast and southwest municipalities. Joksimović said that 700 new jobs had been created there and that it was expected that another 850 would be created in the upcoming year or two. Joksimović underlined that 94 companies had been established, and that some of them had increased export, whereas the European PROGRES programme also contributed to the regulation of local infrastructure.

Minister of European Integration Jadranka Joksimović stated today that the adopted EU strategy for the Western Balkans was one of the strongest messages that the European Commission addressed to Serbia since the outset of the European integration process.


She said that the strategy was generated as an elaboration and a follow-up to the vision of EC President Jean-Claude Juncker, who mentioned 2025 as the approximate year in his response to the questions of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić regarding the time perspective of our country’s accession.
