Commenting on the news that Croatia will receive around EUR 88.9 million from the Solidarity Fund for the recovery from the earthquake that struck Zagreb in March, Minister of European Integration Jadranka Joksimović has recalled that Serbia has already received money from this Fund following the devastating floods of 2014, adding that it then had a treatment of an equal EU member state. She has further noted that Serbia has applied for those funds again due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The European Union is preparing a large investment and economic package for autumn that will be intended as assistance to the economies of the Western Balkans in the fight against the coronavirus-caused crisis, while it already approved an assistance package worth EUR 3.3 billion at the EU–WB Summit in Zagreb, which was intended as assistance to healthcare systems as well as assistance in tackling the economic effects of the pandemic. In the meantime, along with the adoption of the EU budget, a seven-year IPA package worth EUR 12.6 billion was approved. These are some of the funds from which our country can use money to recover from the crisis, the only question is whether we will use all the possibilities.

Today, Minister of European Integration Jadranka Joksimović has chaired the meeting of the Council of the Serbian Government Coordination Body for EU accession, where she has pointed out that it is necessary to accelerate the reform process stemming from the European integration process, through better coordination and political impetus to the implementation of activities and obligations arising from all negotiation chapters. The meeting was attended by 77 representatives of various institutions, members of negotiating groups, Negotiating Team and state secretaries. In addition, the meeting was organised in the form of a video conference call, in accordance with the health protection measures prescribed in the circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Traditionally, tourism sparks the greatest interest within the cross-border cooperation programme between Serbia and Romania. In this area, there is a series of interesting projects that are currently being implemented, such as a project that envisages the landscaping of archaeological sites Majdan in Serbia and Parța in Romania, and building the capacities for tourist reception.
