The delegation of the Ministry of European Integration and the Negotiating Team of the Republic of Serbia have gone to Tbilisi to participate in the ’EU Dialogue between Serbia and Georgia’ dedicated to the exchange of experiences in the European integration process, primarily including Serbia transferring its experience in the implementation of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA), negotiation process, Serbia’s technical assistance to Georgia and coordination of EU funds.
This form of cooperation has been established at the initiative of Minister of European Integration Jadranka Joksimović and it represents the first concrete form of cooperation between Serbia and Georgia in the area of European integration. The host of the EU Dialogue, Georgian Minister of Foreign Affairs David Zalkaliani, and the Georgian side have expressed particular gratitude to Minister Joksimović for her initiative and joint agreement to hold the EU dialogue between Serbia and Georgia regularly on an annual basis.
In addition, it has been agreed that, in the second half of 2019 in Georgia, ministers Joksimović and Zalkaliani will sign the Memorandum of Understanding between the Serbian Ministry of European Integration and the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The next EU dialogue between Serbia and Georgia is planned to be held in Belgrade.
