Civil servants from the region at professional practice in the Republic of Serbia

Within the regional project EU Scheme for Young Professionals in the Western Balkans implemented by the European Commission and the British Council, five civil servants from the region are attending an exchange programme in Belgrade. From 17 to 30 March, they will carry out their professional practice in Serbia, exchanging experiences with the representatives of competent institutions. The topic within the project will be ‘Strengthening the Economy, Competitiveness and Investment Climate in the framework of EU Accession process’.

In accordance with the obligations of programme participants to develop a joint document on the topic ‘EU Connectivity Agenda for the Western Balkans: key initiatives and instruments aimed at facilitating regional cooperation and the EU accession process’, the Ministry of European Integration has organised meetings with the representatives of relevant institutions, so that Serbia’s experience in this area would contribute to a better understanding of the importance of regional connectivity in the context of EU accession.

In the first stage of the project, thirty participants attended training at the French institute Sciences Po in Paris and at the College of Europe in Bruges. The goals of this programme are the building of administrative capacities of young civil servants in the Western Balkans and the strengthening of regional cooperation.
