On 24 and 25 January, the Ministry of European Integration organised a two-day seminar “Support to the Preparation of the Negotiating Position for Chapter 16 - Indirect Taxation in the Area of Excise Duties”. This training course was organised together with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), within the component “EU Accession Negotiations” of the project “Support to Public Administration Reform”.
Members of Negotiating Group 16 referring to taxes, together with EU experts, analysed EU regulations on excise duties. In particular, discussions were held on the plan to align the legislation of the Republic of Serbia in this area with the EU acquis and on recommendations on the basis of which domestic regulations should be improved.
Civil servants from the Ministry of Finance and the Tax Administration participated in this seminar.
