J. Joksimović: Call for pact against Serbia – anti-European and hostile

Minister of European Integration Jadranka Joksimović has stated that Enver Hoxhaj’s announcement that he will initiate a regional pact against Serbia “clearly stems from last week’s signed activities and joint statements made by Pristina and Albania that are launching the programme of the unification of Albanians”.

Joksimović has told Tanjug that they are asking for support in this matter primarily from the countries on which they think they can put political pressure because of a large Albanian national minority, while they are proposing this to Croatia so as to acquire legitimacy through the support of an EU Member State.
“The plans are clear and are unquestionably deriding the whole European concept of regional cooperation in the Western Balkans, and will lead to jeopardising security and therefore the European perspective of the region”, said Joksimović commenting on the statement of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Pristina Government.

She has said that this is not surprising coming from Pristina that, according to her, has shrouded itself in false European aspirations, supported by Albania, because “the European path is obviously just a false path they wanted to use to hide their true intentions to destabilise the region and Europe”.
“This call for a pact is the moment when the EU and Serbia can see, regarding the sincerity of regional cooperation, that the emperor has no clothes, and that all the stories on regional cooperation from the beginning are just an instrument of insincere politics directed towards tactically reaching goals that are in essence hostile towards regional cooperation and peace”.

Joksimović has emphasised that Serbia is clearly committed to regional cooperation and peace and to upholding fundamental European values and progress, adding that President Vučić has demonstrated this countless times.
“I expect the EU to react to such hostile initiatives that attack and jeopardise the European order of peace and stability”, stressed Joksimović.

She has said that Serbia will continue to act in the most serious and active way, both institutionally and using all mechanisms and levels to protect the interests of the citizens in the region, where there are threats with pacts and destabilisation, instead of activities towards general development and progress of everyone, especially young people.
