Delegation of Georgia in a study visit to the Ministry of European Integration

Representatives of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia paid a two-day study visit to the Ministry of European Integration of the Republic of Serbia, during which they had the opportunity to learn about the experiences of the Republic of Serbia in the EU accession process, the preparation of the Serbian version of the EU acquis and the role of the Ministry of European Integration in the coordination of institutions involved in the process of Serbia’s European integration.

Acting Assistant Minister of European Integration Ksenija Milenković acquainted the civil servants from Georgia with key political topics, current affairs and challenges Serbia faces on its path to the EU, further explaining the role of the business community and the business sector in the process of European integration, as well as the significance of human and financial resources in this process.

The second day of the study visit was dedicated to the presentation of training courses conducted by the Ministry of European Integration with the aim of improving the administrative capacity of Serbia’s public administration. Furthermore, there were discussions about the issues of how the Ministry conducts communication activities related to European integration and which challenges it faces in informing the domestic public on the EU. In addition, the Georgian delegation had the opportunity to talk with representatives of the Ministry about the experiences related to translating EU legal acts into the Serbian language, namely, preparing the Serbian version of the EU acquis.
