Announcement on amendments to the fifth and seventh sub-projects under the Regional Housing Programme

Jadranka Joksimović, Minister of European Integration, has signed today two amendments to existing agreements under the Regional Housing Programme, which will provide housing solutions for additional families of refugees and persons expelled from Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina during the wars waged in the nineties, as well as design services for facilities that will be constructed with financial means from the next sub-projects of the Programme.

The first amendment, referring to the fifth sub-project of the Regional Housing Programme, will provide housing for additional 135 refugee families, setting the total number of families to be accommodated to 1,847 in this wave. For these purposes, another EUR 2,465,515 has been provided under the Regional Housing Programme, so the total value of grants made available through this sub-project is EUR 38,814,421.

The amendment to the seventh sub-project of the Regional Housing Programme implies the extension of the scope of sub-project activities and it will also enable the financing of the procurement procedure for design services related to new housing units with 350 apartments. In this way, preconditions will be met to provide additional funds for construction under the Programme.

The objective of the Regional Housing Programme is to provide permanent housing solutions for 26,898 of the most vulnerable refugee families in the region (74,000 persons), of which over 16,000 are located in the Republic of Serbia, the largest beneficiary of the Programme. The largest donor of the Programme is the European Union with over EUR 230 million of allocated funds, while financial assistance is also provided by the United States, Germany, Norway, Italy and other donors. To date, the Republic of Serbia has been granted over EUR 110 million in grants through 8 sub-projects and amendments, which are signed by Jadranka Joksimović, Minister of European Integration, in accordance with the Government's Conclusion.
