J. Joksimović and Kuchta: The Czech Republic shares its experiences from the process of European integrationвест

Minister of European Integration Jadranka Joksimović has met with newly appointed Ambassador of the Czech Republic Tomáš Kuchta. They have discussed the continuation of Serbia’s European integration and the cooperation of the two countries in the process, the effects of reforms, situation in the region, bilateral relations and other topics.

Jadranka Joksimović has informed the new Czech Ambassador on the future activities in the accession process. She has pointed out that Serbia has opened 14 chapters so far - two of which have been provisionally closed, and that there are expectations that some of the chapters for which Serbia is prepared at the technical level will be opened during Austria’s EU Council presidency. According to her, by opening the chapters, the EU confirms that Serbia demonstrates clear commitment to apply European values through the implementation of reforms.

The Minister has expressed her gratitude for the assistance the Czech Republic has been providing to Serbia in the accession process, which relates to Serbia’s participation in EU civil missions, as well as to the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, healthcare, environmental protection, sustainable energy resources and technology transfer.

The Minister of European Integration has assessed that the members of the Visegrad group, which includes the Czech Republic, are countries with which additional and good cooperation is possible in the European integration process, primarily through the exchange of experiences and the application of established and confirmed criteria.

Ambassador Kuchta has assessed that the reforms Serbia is implementing in the EU accession process give good results. He believes that, with the activities it is carrying out and the fact that it shares European values with the rest of the Union members, Serbia deserves to be part of that organisation. In that sense, he has confirmed that the Czech Republic will continue to assist and support Serbia’s European path.

The interlocutors have stated that the bilateral relations are excellent and that there are conditions for their strengthening.
