Europe Day marked with "European Village" event in Zrenjanin

On the occasion of Europe Day, the Ministry of European Integration joined the city of Zrenjanin, the European Union Delegation to Serbia and the European Affairs Fund of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina in organising the "European Village" event, in which children from 28 elementary schools from Zrenjanin, Tomaševac, Orlovat, Perlez and the area participated.

The gathering was opened by the State Secretary of the Ministry of European Integration, Anja Rović, Deputy Head of the EU Delegation Mateja Norčič, and Mayor of Zrenjanin Čedomir Janjić. Anja Rović congratulated the schools on the idea and the realisation of the event, noting that this is a good opportunity for the children of Zrenjanin to learn a lot about the EU.
"This event, which has been successfully organised in Zrenjanin for many years, further confirms the importance of the efforts we are making on Serbia's path to the European Union. Serbia's membership in the EU is the strategic goal of our country, and it is only achievable with the support and consensus of our citizens on this issue. The "European Village" and participation of 28 schools from Zrenjanin, Tomaševac, Orlovat, Despotovac, Perlez and many other municipalities in the area is another confirmation that we are heading in the right direction," Anja Rović said.

This year, the Ministry has again rewarded schools for organising the "European Village", where all 28 schools have been awarded valuable presents - sets of sports equipment.
