J. Joksimović: Serbia is open to continuing cooperation in the region

Minister of European Integration Jadranka Joksimović has said today that Serbia is open to continuing good, constructive cooperation in the region, but has also added that this does not depend on us only.
"This, of course, does not depend on us only. With that in mind, we urged everyone to show greater responsibility in regards to public statements and messages that are being communicated in relation to various open issues that still exist in our region," said Joksimović, who took part in the SEECP Summit at Brdo near Kranj.

She has said that the South-East European Cooperation Process, which was established in 1996, is an important regional format, since it encompasses a wider format than the one we call the Western Balkans.
"South-East Europe implies that, apart from the representatives of the Western Balkans region, Bulgaria, Romania, Greece and Turkey are also involved, as well as some other participants. In that sense, this is a very good platform for communication and exchange of views on the situation in the region of South-East Europe, joint initiatives, open issues, regional cooperation - everything that is considered to be an important topic not only for the Western Balkans but also, in a broader sense, for South-East Europe," Joksimović has said.
"At the Summit on the South-East European Cooperation Process, there were also the representatives of the European External Action Service with whom we talked about the EC Progress Report for Serbia which was presented last week," Joksimović has said, adding that she also met with the Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.
"We talked about the recent events. We will see how the political dialogue continues. A lot of difficult topics have been on the table these days, and they still are," Joksimović has said.

As she has added, the Summit was also attended by its host, the Prime Minister of Slovenia Miro Cerar, the Prime Minister of Montenegro Duško Marković, the Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, as well as by the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdić.
"We are active, and we have nothing to run away from. We are everywhere where we should articulate and present the positions and interests of our country, and in that sense, I assess this meeting we had at Brdo near Kranj as very successful and good," Joksimović has concluded.

She spoke at the session titled "Future Cooperation in South-East Europe" which has been organized within the framework of the SEECP Summit.
