Announce on the 22.01.2018 the Second Call for project proposals under the Interreg-IPA Cross-border Cooperation Bulgaria-Serbia 2014-2020 Programme, with aim to improve the cross-border cooperation between Bulgaria and Serbia. The Programme is co-funded from the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance II (IPA II) of the European Union.
The overall objective of the Programme is to stimulate the balanced and sustainable development of the Bulgaria-Serbia border region integrated in the European space - achieved through smart economic growth, environmental change adaptation and learning culture enhancement.
The total amount allocated to the First Call for proposals is 12 121 602 €.
Project proposals would have to target one of the following Priority Axes and specific objectives under the Programme:
The key objective of the Programme is to raise the capacity of the local and regional authorities in the development and implementation of joint projects in the eligible cross-border region, defined in the Programme as follows:

The deadline for submission of project proposals is 23.04.2018, 17:00 h. local Bulgarian time (EET).

A campaign for information and support of applicants is going to be organized in the upcoming months in the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Serbia. The dates and venues of the information events are going to be announced soon on the web site of the Programme (www.ipacbc-bgrs.eu).

Within the project Open Regional Fund for South-East Europe, the Ministry of European Integration has organised a seminar called European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR), in cooperation with the German Organisation for International Cooperation (GIZ). The aim of the seminar was for the participants to acquire and improve the knowledge regarding certification and record keeping in the field of carriage of dangerous goods, as well as examples of good practice in EU countries.

The Ministry of European Integration has organized a seminar "Classification of national regulations and legal techniques for drafting the EU legislation", with the aim of acquiring and improving the knowledge for drafting the laws and bylaws, in accordance with the specifics of the transposition of EU legislation, along with an interactive exchange of experiences and analysis of examples from practice.

The workshop "Coordination and written communication in the EU accession process" has been organised by the Ministry of European Integration, with the aim of gaining and improving the knowledge for the preparation and writing of documents and legal written contributions that are submitted to the institutions of the European Union, actually the familiarizing with the content, form and key elements of a good legal written contribution, along with an interactive exchange of experiences and analysis of examples from practice.

The European Commission and the British Council are continuing, for the third year in a row, the implementation of the regional project EU Scheme for Young Professionals in the Western Balkans III, aimed at building the administrative capacities of young civil servants in the Western Balkans, as well as strengthening of the regional cooperation.

If there was a referendum tomorrow with the question: "Do you support the accession of Serbia to the European Union?", 55% of Serbian citizens would vote for, 21% would vote against, while 12% would not vote at and 12 % would not know how they would respond to this question - this is the result of the latest public opinion poll European Orientation of Serbian Citizens conducted by the Ministry of European Integration. A total of 1,050 respondents older than 18 participated in the survey that was designed according to the Standard Eurobarometer.

Registration for the 7th Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (the Danube Strategy, EUSDR), jointly organised by the Bulgarian Presidency of the EUSDR and the European Commission, which will be held on 18 and 19 October 2018 in Sofia is now open.

The Collection of Student Papers before you is the result of the second competition organised by the Ministry of European Integration of the Republic of Serbia for the best student papers on the European Union. We announced the competition in February 2018, in order to further contribute to a better reflection on the EU, the processes and changes implied by Serbia's integration into this community, as well as on raising awareness among students about the importance of academic writing and access to topics that are essential for the whole society. This collection, the second in a row, as well as interest in the one published in the previous year, shows that we have not made a mistake.
