Announce on the 22.01.2018 the Second Call for project proposals under the Interreg-IPA Cross-border Cooperation Bulgaria-Serbia 2014-2020 Programme, with aim to improve the cross-border cooperation between Bulgaria and Serbia. The Programme is co-funded from the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance II (IPA II) of the European Union.
The overall objective of the Programme is to stimulate the balanced and sustainable development of the Bulgaria-Serbia border region integrated in the European space - achieved through smart economic growth, environmental change adaptation and learning culture enhancement.
The total amount allocated to the First Call for proposals is 12 121 602 €.
Project proposals would have to target one of the following Priority Axes and specific objectives under the Programme:
The key objective of the Programme is to raise the capacity of the local and regional authorities in the development and implementation of joint projects in the eligible cross-border region, defined in the Programme as follows:

The deadline for submission of project proposals is 23.04.2018, 17:00 h. local Bulgarian time (EET).

A campaign for information and support of applicants is going to be organized in the upcoming months in the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Serbia. The dates and venues of the information events are going to be announced soon on the web site of the Programme (www.ipacbc-bgrs.eu).

One hundred and six (106) entrepreneurs and micro and small enterprises from the South East and South West Serbia will improve their production and open new jobs with the support of the European Union (EU) that have allocated 2,156,379 Euros through EU PRO development programme for procreant of the new equipment with the aim to boost competitiveness of the local economy.

Reconstructed border crossing Bajmok has been opened today. It is one of eight border crossings between Serbia and Hungary whose reconstruction cost EUR 2.1 million, done according to the highest global standards.

On Thursday, the 31st of January 2019, the sixth meeting of the Joint Monitoring Committee of the Interreg-IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Romania-Serbia Programme took place in Timişoara, Romania.

On 24 and 25 January, the Ministry of European Integration organised a two-day seminar “Support to the Preparation of the Negotiating Position for Chapter 16 - Indirect Taxation in the Area of Excise Duties”. This training course was organised together with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), within the component “EU Accession Negotiations” of the project “Support to Public Administration Reform”.

If there was a referendum tomorrow with the question: "Do you support the accession of Serbia to the European Union?", 55% of Serbian citizens would vote for, 25% would vote against, while a total of 20% (10% each) would not vote at all or would not know how they would respond to this question - this is the result of the public opinion poll European Orientation of Serbian Citizens conducted by the Ministry of European Integration. A total of 1,050 respondents older than 18 participated in the survey that was designed according to the Standard Eurobarometer.

Today at the French Institute, Acting Assistant Minister of European Integration Ksenija Milenković has spoken with first-year students enrolled in Master’s programme "International Relations and European Affairs” of the Paris-Panthéon Sorbonne University. They discussed Serbia’s European integration and why it is important both for Serbia and the EU that the enlargement policy remains high on the Union’s agenda.
