J. Joksimović: All media associations are invited to express their ideas

Minister of European Integration Jadranka Joksimović stated today that all media associations had been invited to participate under equal conditions and to express their arguments and ideas as to the ways of promoting and regulating transparent media financing, creation of media strategy and regulation of the status of journalists’ profession.

“A part of independent media associations has decided not to take part in this”, Joksimović said at the meeting of the EU-Serbia Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee.

She also reminded that Prime Minister Ana Brnabić had received the informal Coalition for media freedom for a special discussion and that the ministers had also been prepared to exchange arguments.

“What criteria do we use to decide who is relevant or irrelevant? If media are equal, all of them should be discussed with”, said Joksimović at the meeting of the EU-Serbia Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee, where the situation of media in Serbia was also discussed.
