J. Joksimović: Another EUR 1.5 billion from EU IPA funds by 2020

In a statement for RTS, Minister of European Integration Jadranka Joksimović has said today that in order to receive grants from EU funds, it was necessary to establish coordination between all ministries and clearly set priorities.

“We define what their financing priorities are, and what ours are, and then we negotiate to establish the list of priorities, to determine what areas they include and where we have projects that are best prepared”, said Joksimović.

Serbia has another EUR 1.5 billion from EU IPA funds available by 2020, and the Minister pointed out that sometimes projects contained fantastic ideas that had not been sufficiently developed.

“Such projects are not suitable for financing, because the maturity of a project is one of the most important components for using IPA funds”, stated Joksimović.

In the previous 15 years, Serbia has received EUR 3 billion in grants from IPA funds.
