Minister Joksimovic: “This non-paper document contains the positions, not the demands”

Minister without portfolio responsible for European integration Jadranka Joksimovic has said today that the non-paper document, which has been distributed to the ambassadors of the EU member states, does not contain any demands, but Serbia’s positions and expectations as regards the development of the situation in the region.

As a response to Tanjug’s question whether it is true, as some media have said, that there are four demands which Belgrade has sent to Brussels, Minister Joksimovic has said:

"The paper that has been distributed to the ambassadors of the EU member states as a non-paper (unofficial document) does not contain any demands for Brussels, but the overview of Serbia’s positions as regards the events in the region and Serbia’s expectations that the European Union should become more involved in the stabilization of the region".

As she has explained, this document contains statements and activities from various actors from the region for the past few months, which have increased the tensions.

“Moreover, the Republic of Serbia readiness has been emphasized as well as the readiness of the Prime Minister and the elected President Aleksandar Vucic for cooperation in the interest of the stability in the region”, Joksimovic has said.
