Launching of the Interreg IPA Cross-border Cooperation Programme Romania-Serbia 2014-2020 and of the First Call for Proposals

The kick-off conference that marks the launch of the Interreg IPA Cross-border Cooperation Programme Romania-Serbia 2014-2020 and of the first related Call for Proposals will be organised in Timisoara, Romania, on 15 September 2015. The event will be attended by potential applicants and representatives of relevant Programme authorities, including the Serbian European Integration Office.

The Programme was approved by the European Commission on 6 August 2015 and will support projects on 4 priority axes:

1. Employment promotion and basic services strengthening for an inclusive growth;

2. Environmental protection and risk management;

3. Sustainable mobility and accessibility;

4. Attractiveness for sustainable tourism.

The Programme area covers Severnobanatski, Srednjebanatski, Južnobanatski, Braničevski, Borski and Podunavski district in the Republic of Serbia. The eligible area in Romania consists of Timiș, Caraș Severin and Mehedinți county.

The total seven-year budget of the Programme is over 88 million euro, out of which the EU grant is nearly 75 million euro. Under the first call for proposals 50 million euro will be available, of which 22 million will be dedicated to strategic projects. The call closes on 15 January 2016 (in the case of strategic projects it will be open until 15 March 2016).
