Bilateral Screening on Chapter 22 - Regional policy and coordination of structural instruments

Bilateral screening on Chapter 22 – Regional policy and coordination of structural instruments will be held on 28th and 29th January in Brussels.  The delegation of the Republic of Serbia, headed by Ms. Ana Ilić, Deputy Director - Coordinator for EU funds in the European Integration Office, will give an overview of the current situation relating to the use of European structural and investment funds by presenting the six most important areas, namely: legislative framework, institutional framework, administrative capacity, programming, monitoring and evaluation, financial management and control.

Chapter 22 includes regulations relating to planning and implementation of EU cohesion policy and the achievement of the goals of the Europe 2020 strategy, using the European structural and investment funds. These regulations define the specific goals of EU cohesion policy for the period 2014-2020, the funds for its implementation (European Regional Development Fund, European Social Fund and the Cohesion Fund), the activities that can be funded, principles and rules for support and the funding amounts. These regulations also set out the programming documents (Partnership Agreement and Operational Programme(s), which should be aligned with the European Commission and the institutional framework which should be established for managing the stated programmes.

The delegation of the Republic of Serbia consists of Ms. Tanja Miščević , Head of the Negotiating Team and the representatives of the following institutions: European Integration Office, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, Republic Secretariat for Public Policies, Republic Secretariat for Legislation, Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, Audit Authority Office of EU Funds and Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction Team. The bilateral screening meeting will also be attended by the representatives of the Serbian Mission to the European Union.

The European Union shall be represented by experts from the European Commission, Directorate General for Regional and Urban Policy and the Directorate for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion.
