Hungarian Government assistance agreements awarded

Agreements on financial assistance by the Hungarian Government have been awarded today in Senta, on the occasion of which Minister of European Integration Jadranka Joksimović has said that this will mean better connectivity between people and economies for 2,200 beneficiaries.
"This is also one of the top priorities of the Governments of the Republic of Serbia and Hungary for better life of all our citizens," Joksimović has said.

Aside from Joksimović, the awarding of the assistance agreements was attended by Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs Péter Szijjártó and President of the Assembly of Vojvodina István Pásztor. Joksimović has assessed that relations between Serbia and Hungary have never been better, especially in the recent years. "We have improved our political relations and raised them to the level where we can talk about strategic relations and good neighbourly relations, and this financial assistance by the Hungarian Government is a confirmation of that and represents significant support to all the citizens of Vojvodina, i.e. the beneficiaries who have applied for it," Joksimović has said. She has added that citizens of Hungary and other nationalities have applied for the assistance of the Hungarian Government - which is intended for the development of Vojvodina, and thus of Serbia.

Having expressed her gratitude to Minister Szijjártó, Joksimović has said that, owing to the engagement of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, we are no longer discussing whether these funds are used by citizens of Hungarian nationality. "These funds will actually be used for the overall economic development of both our countries," Joksimović has said. She has thanked Hungary for its wholehearted support to Serbia on its path towards the EU.

Pásztor has thanked the Serbian Government for this project, but also for the openness of the Serbian Government, because, as he has said, no one has ever created any obstacles to its realization. "This is normal, but given the practices of neighbouring countries, Serbia is a frontrunner in this kind of support," Pásztor has said.
