J. Joksimović and Szijjártó: Hungary is an important partner and a friend of Serbia

Minister of European Integration Jadranka Joksimović has met with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs Péter Szijjártó in Kübekháza, where they discussed the European integration process of Serbia, the continuation of the two countries’ cooperation in Serbia’s EU accession process, and on bilateral relations.

Jadranka Joksimović has expressed her gratitude for the strong and valuable support and overall assistance that Hungary, as an important partner and friendly state, provides to Serbia in the European integration process. She has expressed her hope and expectation that the Hungarian candidate will receive the Enlargement portfolio within the new European Commission composition, giving the enlargement policy additional positive impetus.

Minister Péter Szijjártó has said that Hungary will continue to assist and support the European path of Serbia, which, by his assessment, deserves to become an EU Member State. He has reiterated that Serbia deserved to open all the chapters for which it was prepared, and that it has established itself as a reliable partner of the EU and a significant factor in regional stability.

Joksimović and Szijjártó have assessed that the relations between the two countries are at an extremely high level, and that there is a mutual desire to intensify them.
